Mena Alexandera Suvari is an American actor, model as well as a fashion stylist. Her birth date was 13 February 1979. Shortly after beginning her career as a model she soon moved into acting, after appearing in guest roles on 1990's television shows such as Boy Meets World and High Incident. She debuted in film with the drama Nowhere which was released in 1997. Following her appearance on the screen in American Beauty (for which she received a BAFTA Award) and American Pie that attracted much attention, she completed her transition into major roles. In the following years, she appeared as the protagonist in Sugar & Spice (2000) with American Pie star Jason Biggs. In 2002, she appeared in Spun the drama that was made by an independent studio and in 2004's thriller Trauma. She also starred in the HBO drama Six Feet Under. The show was an instant hit in 2004 and in 2005, the Screen Actors Guild awarded her the title of one of the outstanding cast members. In 2008, she part of several films such as Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh as well as the movie adaptation to The Garden of Eden. Suvari has been a model on behalf of Lancome Paris Adaptive, and she has also appeared on several blogs and fashion magazines, including Vogue. She is an active advocate and supporter of the African Medical and Research Foundation. The organization is also active in women's empowerment issues and collaborates with various organizations to support breast cancer awareness and women's rights and the End Violence Against Women Campaign.
