Mena Alexa Suvari was born in 1979. She is an American fashion designer, model and actor. Following a brief time as a model in the fashion industry before moving into acting by appearing as guest actors on television shows like Boy Meets World in the 1990s and High Incident. The film debut came in 1997's dramatic Nowhere. After her performance on the screen in American Beauty (for which she was awarded a BAFTA Award) and American Pie that attracted greater attention, she began her transition into major parts. Since then she appeared on screen in Loser (2000) with her American Pie co-star Jason Biggs as well as later portrayed the lead character in the comedy film Sugar & Spice (2001). Spun And Trauma a thriller from 2004 was her second appearance. She also was a guest in the HBO drama Six Feet Under. She was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award 2005 as part of the Outstanding Ensemble. In 2008, Suvari was cast in various films such as Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and also as in the adaptation to The Garden of Eden.
