Erica Robinson is her mother who confirmed and announced her passing via her social media profiles in which she posted the information about her on 3rd of February. On the post, she posted the details of her death, and also stated that her 18-year-old was shot to death. On the same blog post, she posted the caption alongside a photograph of her daughter that she shared with her previous father. Wearing matching red T-shirts the two women appeared to be standing next to one another. Officials from the Jackson Police Department have confirmed that Gatlin's demise occurred on Barnes Street.
